The Washington Times reported last week that thousands... Yes, THOUSANDS, of California's sex offenders remove their GPS trackers and are not having to deal with harsh consequences. Right here you might think, "Oh, well that's not cool..." You're damn right, but wait it gets so much worse...
Just like a really bad infomercial, there's even MORE. A large percentage of them go on to commit more crimes (shocking since that's what criminals do when they aren't jailed) like kidnap and attempted manslaughter.
My favorite part in all this is a delightful parole agent's take on this... one reported "It's a huge problem. If the public knew, they'd be shocked" Okay, woah. First off yes, it's a huge problem. Good job, you passed for the day... almost. Secondly, what do you mean IF the public knew? That should be one of the first things on the news every day! "By the way Tom, sex offenders are still getting away with ridiculous shit... back to you" Damn right we're shocked! These are not people who just stole a candy bar and deserve a slap on the wrist - these people need to be locked up because they are CRIMINALS. Are you freakin' kidding me!?
I don't know about you, but I'm beyond shocked! These people are not being treated seriously, when they're committing very serious crimes. Instead they're released, they'll go try to kill someone, and THEN we'll consider locking them up. Great idea California... How sad is this... how sad is it that there's probably only one thing that would change this drastically. If one of these people did something to a family member of ...let's just say the governor for example... the next day it could all change.
Why is it so different when it's happening to the general public? Another fun thought is: how many other freaking states is this happening in!? Obviously CA isn't the only one with overcrowded jails! Anyone who somehow has a job these days knows what taxes are like... and the taxes should pay to lock up the damn sex offenders, too!
